About Us Our Story

Temong

Temong was formed by three very important stakeholders in the Sernick family during the first Farmers Development Programme, which took place between 2018 and 2020.

These stakeholders are:

The Sernick Workers Trust (20%)

The Trust represents more than 600 workers. The profits of the trust will be utilised to create bursaries as well as social infrastructure in Edenville and Kroonstad.

The Farmers Development Trust (70%)

these are the very best of the Tier 3 farmers who participated in the Sernick Farmers Development programme, with support from the Jobs Fund at National Treasury. These farmers were hand-selected by the Sernick Group.

The Sustainable Agri Non-Profit Company (10%)

a non-profit vehicle that will receive funds from financial development institutions, as well as Corporate Social Investment funds, from a broad spectrum of corporates.

Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our mission is to proactively create agricultural value chains and, in the process, to contribute to a more sustainable and productive future for agriculture on the African continent.

    • Integrity: we do the right thing, even when no-one is watching.

    • Sustainability: we care about our environment and do everything that we can to preserveits beauty and bounty for future generations.
